Herbs and Nutrition

There is a common thread joining the systems of herbal medicine, all of which base their diagnosis and treatment upon a holistic, energetic model.  Thus energetic herbal systems of classification--as seen in the Chinese, Ayurvedic and original Western systems--addresses considerations of diet and lifestyle and tries to identify underlying emotional and spiritual causes for disease.  A medicine that does not sufficiently take these factors into account is compelled to use even stronger methods of treatment, such as drugs, surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.  On the other hand, it appears that cures for most human aliments can be affected much more gently when the underlying causes of disease are attended to and adjustments made, through the use of mild herbs and food/nutrition.
